As a teenager,  I have random feelings of anger, depression and love. I cannot control how I feel most of the time. Estrogen and testosterone alter emotions in the body. As a teenager, our perception of consequences is lowered.

Brains don’t mature until around the age of 21. Many teenagers see a decision as do it and be humiliated, but it’s more about chemicals.  Most brain development occurs during adolescence.
