Oilton’s show season came to a close in Oklahoma city at the worlds largest youth expo. Many pigs were loaded into the stock trailer, along with families loaded into vehicles for the 2 week long Oklahoma Youth Expo. The goal at OYE is to make it past the cift ring judge and into the big ring. My sophomore year, I placed in the big ring with my spot barrow and it has been my greatest honor, still to this day.

Brittany Poole’s Berkshire gilt made it into the ┬ábig ring but didn’t place. I made it into the big ring also with my Spot gilt and again, didn’t place. Jaycee Jenkins made it to the big ring with her cross gilt, but also did not place. The amount of joy that you receive just by making it there, over comes the disappointment you feel when you aren’t placed. So thankful for all the opportunities we were given this year.
